As spring comes, temperatures are rising. Then some solar PV system owners may wonder whether the weather changes will affect the solar panels’ efficiency. Here, Eco Green Energy lists several points for your reference.
Effective of Heat
Many of our customers from Eco Green Energy want to know exactly how changes in heat can affect solar panel performance. As we all know, solar panels are generally tested at about 25℃ and are rated to perform at peak efficiency between 15℃ and 35℃. However, solar panels may get hot or cold during the summer and winter. When the surface temperature of your solar panels gets higher or lower, solar panel efficiency can decline somewhat.
Keep in mind that solar panels are made from exceptionally durable materials that are designed to withstand extreme outdoor conditions. From freezing winter weather to intense summer heat. Moreover, the exact temperature of your solar panels will depend on factors like air temperature, geographic location, level of direct sunlight, and roofing material.

About Temperature Coefficient
If you really want to understand how much energy your solar panels may produce depending on the temperature outside, check the temperature coefficient on the manufacturer’s datasheet. Solar PV modules are tested for their efficiency at 25°C, which is the cell temperature of Standard Test Conditions (STC). And with any temperature increase above 25°C must consider power losses of 1% for every 2°C increase.

For example, the temperature coefficient of Eco Green Energy ATLAS solar panels is -0.36% per one degree Celsius. This means that for each one degree Celsius above 25°C, the maximum efficiency of an Eco Green Energy ATLAS solar panel will decrease by 0.36%. Thus, cooler, sunny weather is best for your solar panels and can help offset any decreased efficiency in the summer.
So, if the outside temperature were 28°C, and the surface of an Eco Green Energy ATLAS solar panel was roughly that same temperature, solar panel efficiency would decrease by just 1.08%.
Choosing Eco Green Energy, Maximize Your Solar Panel Efficiency
If you’re considering going to solar, choose the best solar panels to install to maximize efficiency is very important.
Eco Green Energy is now processing the 1GW factory for 182mm (M10) and 210mm (G12) in Nantong, China. Moreover, the factory will supply advanced PV module ATLAS and ATLAS PRO with a power output of 550W and 610W. Eco Green Energy ATLAS series module, with 182mm wafers and 10BB half-cut cells technology, will increase the efficiency up to 21.5%.
