Pakistan enjoys sunshine for more than 300 days a year. Ideal sunny weather proves that this country is in the top 10 for solar energy generation. However, Pakistan still ranks at 44th place among the countries with the highest dependency on solar energy. According to Mordor Inteligence, the Pakistani solar energy market will record a CAGR of more than 2.5% during the forecast period of 2022-2027.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan government implemented 17% taxes for renewable energy, including solar panels, at the beginning of 2022. Contrary to this policy, world record holder Pakistani solar scientist Yasir Siddique has called for increasing the usage of solar technology in the country to lead the country to a more sustainable future.
In fact, a scientist considers it essential to shift to solar energy for Pakistan to achieve the dream of a carbon-neutral world by 2050.
