Location in the equatorial zone makes Colombia a country with high solar radiation, even more than any country in the United States or Europe. The Guajira Peninsula in the northeast and the Orinoco flatlands in the east of Colombia reached the highest national values of 6.0 kWh/m2. Such conditions create many opportunities for simply transforming sunlight to clean energy. A tremendous amount of solar power and extensive solar projects fosters the growth of the Colombian solar market shortly.

Moreover, recently Colombia’s energy and gas regulator CREG published new regulations for small-scale solar power generators up to 5 MW. They will allow the sale of surplus energy to the national grid and promote solar installations application among households and businesses.

We share the recent agro solar installation in the sun shining country! Our local partner, GAIA Energy, installed the solar on-grid plant with a capacity of 56.1 kW. In addition, they used 102 EGE brand Atlas 550W PV modules with Gallium-dopped technology for Lemon irrigation. Now, lemons will grow in total purity and clean energy.

In fact, the agricultural sector needs a lot of energy for efficient production. Solar installations are the best decision to reach desired consumption with low-cost money spending. Agro solar installation can power solar drying, water pumping, refrigeration for food preservation and other demands.
