Today, 97% of the population today are Christians, and Armenia has one of the most beautiful churches in the world. The country was converted to Christianity back in 301AD by St. Gregory Illuminator. Since then, many churches have been built, including the first church in the world – Holy Etchimiadzin. 

In addition, Armenia has considerable solar energy potential; it is much sunnier than most European countries. It receives 1,720- kilowatt-hours per square meter of sunlight every year, compared to an average of 1,000 in Europe.
