In Eco Green Energy, we are excited to announce the start of collaboration with our two new distributors in Burkina Faso – Belmax and ETES Burkina.
Belmax has been in solar energy since 2018. The company supplies, constructs, and commissions solar mini-grids and streetlights. Their product range mainly focuses on solar panels, batteries, inverters, Dc and Ac components, wires, and cables.
ETES Burkina has been dealing with the solar industry for 12 years. Except for solar panels supplement, they also provide equipment for making the environment better, for example, water purification.
We are entirely glad to start perspective cooperation with such experienced two distributors in Burkina Faso, aimed to bring more successful solar projects together that improve the lives of the locals.
Prosperous under the sun: West African solar market up
Africa is famous for its abundant amount of sunlight. Located closely to the Equator, the country has tremendous opportunities for the rapid growth of the solar energy market.

Unfortunately, many people have used kerosene lamps and candles to light their homes and burn wood for cooking or water heating till now. Africans are still forced to overcome long distances to charge their devices or even to fill the pure water. Contrary to the existing poverty, the International Energy Agency (IEA) expects solar energy to represent 14% of installed power capacity in Africa by 2030.
“Africa has a unique opportunity to pursue a much less carbon-intensive development path than many other parts of the world.”
Dr. Fatih Birol, the IEA’s Executive Director
The West African region has a vast renewable energy potential to cover power demand and achieve access to electricity while supporting the region’s transition to a low-carbon growth path.
West Africa is focused on economic growth, which means energy demand will increase. Solar energy offers an ideal solution for both on and off-grid applications, where people, even from remote areas, can benefit from electricity for their needs. West African area is proud to have Ghana with a stable income and natural resources such as cobalt and platinum ready for clean energy implementation. Also, it is proud to have the Zagtouli photovoltaic power plant, located in a suburb of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso. It is one of the projects that promote the rise of solar power on the continent.
To make it short, the West African solar market can offer not only clean energy but also new working places, and improve living.
Solar Energy Market in Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso is a low-income West African country that has been faced jihadi violation for five years. Its economy largely depends on agriculture, which employs 80% of the workforce. In addition, Burkina Faso is Africa’s largest cotton producer: 80% relies on genetically modified seeds from there.
In fact, the country mostly suffers from a water crisis: there is not enough water in the region. Citizens need to reach areas far from their homes to fill jerry cans with water.

People need to reach areas far from their homes to fill jerry cans with water. Solar installations are the best choice to improve live standards as well as prevent severe diseases and death. For example, with the rise of solar water pump installations, there will be easier to access pure water. Moreover, the solar installation will be beneficial in the agriculture area, fostering the output of the performance.
We really need to consider solar energy in [an] emergency. People will always be in the [water] queue almost close to the whole day with the heat that is there, it’s like you’re punishing people.”
Manenji Mangundu, NRC’s country director for Burkina Faso
Many renewable energy experts say that solar energy can be crucial in Burkina Faso for creating a chance to generate electricity with clean energy. Burkina Faso’s government wants not to depend on neighbors and meet 30% of electricity needs from solar panels by 2030.
To conclude…
Eco Green Energy is glad to be a part of the ambitious plan of Burkina Faso to a healthier and happier life. We ensure the local market only with the high-efficient PV modules and perfect service to help reach the clean target.
