We are happy to share that Eco Green Energy has obtained INMETRO certification for photovoltaic modules to ensure their quality for the Brazilian market. Certification rates products from A to E. EGE is sincerely proud to achieve the highest A rating for the ATLAS 550W PV module. In addition, this PV module complies with Ex Tariff regulations in Brazil.
Indeed, INMETRO certification is an indicator of the best energy efficiency of PV modules. In addition, this proves the alignment with Brazilian standards of our photovoltaic modules.
The Brazilian market
Brazil is one of the most advanced countries in South America for renewable energies. In addition, the country has an excellent level of solar radiation due to its location in the latitude ranges. Mordor Intelligence reports that in 2019, Brazil was LATAM’s largest solar market, contributing nearly 42% of total solar power in South America. According to the country’s latest plan, the goal is to increase capacity from 2.4 GW to 8.6 GW.
INMETRO Certification – Why is it important to get it?
INMETRO or National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology is a Brazilian regulatory body that assesses the alignment with the requirements of many consumer and industrial products manufactured or exported to Brazil. Photovoltaic modules must also get legal access to the Brazilian market.
The regulatory agency verifies and controls photovoltaic modules imported, sold, and installed in Brazil in accordance with national quality and safety standards, and issues INMETRO certification to products that meet the criteria.
Above all, these standards are similar to the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission). Photovoltaic modules are laboratory tested and the factory is inspected in accordance with ISO 9001.
In addition, Eco Green Energy is happy to be present in the Brazilian market since 2020 and has already taken part in a few projects there. We believe that this year brings closer cooperation with this market from a long-term perspective following obtaining this INMETRO certification.
